Oxfordshire Nepalese Community (ONC), UK, known as the ONC UK is an umbrella community to bring all the Nepalese people within Oxfordshire under one umbrella. This community is from Nepalese, living within Oxfordshire. All members of the community are from Nepal and majority of them are Ex (retired) Gurkhas and their families, including students and working professionals. The ONC UK was established in December 2006. The main aim of this organization is to promote, preserve and share traditional Nepalese culture, customs and values. To promote cultural exchange and good relations between Nepalese, British and other people from different ethnic origins in Oxfordshire.

Oxford Nepalese Day Trip to Portsmouth on 31 July 2022 – Posted by Capt. Tulasi Paudel

We have today (31 July 2022) managed to take more than 325 people to Portsmouth south sea and back in Oxford safely. This was not an easy task, and many volunteers have worked tirelessly to make this event a success. We thank you all for your time and effort, but I must thank the following personnel for their special efforts:

गत शनिवार १६ अप्रिल २०२२ का दिन Oxfod कै इतिहांसमा पहिलो पटक झन्डै 450 जनाको उपस्थितिमा Oxford Nepalese Youth द्वारा आयोजित नेपाली नयाँ वर्ष २०७९ को पार्टी अत्यन्तै भव्यका साथ सम्पन्न भयो । उपस्थित सबै महानुभाबहरुले भरपुर रमाइलोका साथ पार्टीको माज्जा लिनु भयो होला भन्ने पुर्ण विश्वाश गरेको छु । सम्पुर्ण युथहरुलाई हार्दिक आभार धन्यवाद ब्यक्त गर्दै उपस्थित सम्पुर्ण महनुभावहरुको साथ सहयोग प्रती हार्दिक धन्यवाद ब्यक्त गर्न चहन्छु। साथै उक्त पार्टीमा खिचिएका फोटो / भिडियोहरु शेयेर गर्न चहन्छु ।

GOOD NEWS – CONNECTING PEOPLE TOGETHER (CPT)

I am very pleased to inform you all that our purposed project “CONNECTING PEOPLE TOGETHER (CPT)” has been accepted and we are awarded the full amount (£6,683.00) of fund we requested.
So what is the CPT Project then? The project is to bring most of our community seniors or anyone who is feeling lonely at home to a designated venue i.e. Cowley Venue for 2 to 3 hours, watch entertaining and educational or relevant videos, have friendly and quality social hours and finish with a light refreshment once a week.
We will welcome volunteers to join us to run this project successfully. I will also be there regularly where possible.
When will this CPT start? The planned date is from 1st Sep 22 but we will inform if we can start earlier.
How long is the CPT project for? Our initial plan is for 12 months, if it proves to be successful, we may submit another proposal next year.
We will run the project as stated in our project proposal and funding application form and will always remain transparent at all the time.
Please come forward should you wish to extend your arms to support this project.
